Crossing the border into Bolivia, you’ll discover the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Flora and Fauna Reserve. This unique and diverse reserve boasts natural wonders and surreal beauty, such as the geothermal hot springs and mud pools of Sol de Mañana geysers. Heading further into Bolivia, you will encounter the Uyuni Salt Flats, the largest in the world. The Bolivian landscape offers unforgettable opportunities to explore the vast region and witness stunning geological wonders like the Lost City of Italy and the Valley of Rocks. ITINERARY
Day 1 – June 1 – Upon landing at Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL), a driver will be ready to escort you to your designated accommodations in Santiago. Once you’ve settled in, you’ll join your group for an incredible welcome dinner in the modern and cosmopolitan city of Santiago.
Day 2 – June 2 – Embark on an exciting day of exploration as the vibrant City of Santiago eagerly awaits your presence! Your journey begins near the iconic Palacio de La Moneda, a significant landmark at the heart of the city. Delve into the historical downtown area, and for an unparalleled view of the city and the majestic Andes, ascend to the summit of Cerro San Cristobal—the climb is truly fulfilling! Explore the surroundings near Santuario Cerro San Cristóbal and Virgen de la Inmaculada Concepción, where you’ll enjoy a panoramic vantage point of the city below. In the afternoon, indulge in a delightful Chilean wine-tasting experience at one of the oldest vineyards in the country.
Day 3 – June 3 – The adventure commences! After a brief flight, you’ll find yourself perched 8000 feet above sea level in the Atacama Desert. Here, you’ll be immersed in one of the planet’s driest ecosystems, where the landscapes are often likened to those of the moon and other celestial bodies. Transport yourself to two captivating new realms, beginning with the Valley of the Moon, which showcases unique stone and sand formations shaped by wind and water erosion. The Valley of Death (Mars Valley) hosts dramatic sunsets with rocks painted in hues of pink and purple, awaiting your exploration. Marvel at the giant sand dunes, perfect for climbing and sandboarding, and catch glimpses of the surrounding rocky outcrops and distant volcanoes.
Day 4 – June 4 – Wake up in the town of San Pedro de Atacama, nestled in the arid plateau of the Andes mountains. Today’s journey takes you south in the Atacama region, with planned stops along the way. Begin by visiting Salar de Atacama, the largest salt flat in Chile, before continuing to Lagunas Altiplanicas, featuring natural blue lagoons where Flamingos harmoniously reside. The tour ends at Piedras Rojas which will undoubtedly leave you impressed with its reddish nuances contrasting against the green and yellow flora. This area also offers glimpses of local wildlife. After this enriching exploration, return to San Pedro de Atacama for some much-needed rest, knowing that your adventures are only just beginning!
Day 5 – June 5 – Rise early for a trek across the Chilean border as we journey into Bolivia. The drive across Bolivia’s expansive country provides opportunities for unique stops. Your entrance into Bolivia begins in the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Flora and Fauna Reserve, where Laguna Blanca welcomes you on your northward drive. Crossing the reserve, you’ll reach altitudes exceeding 16,000 feet. The Sol de Mañana geysers will take your breath away as you explore one of the highest geothermal fields in the world. This evening, you’ll settle into remote accommodations just north of Villamar Mallcu.
Day 6 -June 6 – This morning, you venture deeper into Bolivia, aiming for the world’s largest salt flats, the Uyuni Salts. What was once a prehistoric lake has transformed into vast, desert-like salt fields adorned with rock formations and cacti. Before reaching your final destination for the evening, you’ll explore the Lost City of Italy, the Valley of Rocks, and canyons boasting panoramic river views. Your accommodation tonight will be situated directly on the edge of the salt flats
Day 7 – June 7 – Journey across the Uyuni Salt Flats today, pausing at various sights along the way. Trade the 4×4 for a hike through the salt flats to Incahuasi Island. This island, situated near the center of the salt flats, was once a temporary refuge for those crossing this vast region. Today, it welcomes adventurous travelers to explore its rocky outcrop adorned with Giant Cacti. Take a stroll to the island’s peak for breathtaking panoramic views of the salt flats below. Afterward, return to your hotel to rest before venturing further north toward La Paz.
Day 8 – June 8 – Pausing the off-road adventures, board a brief flight from Uyuni to La Paz. As the highest capital city in the world, resting comfortably at 11,975 feet above sea level, La Paz boasts numerous local markets, plazas, and churches steeped in local culture and history. Famous for its closeness to Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon), a brief drive south brings you to a rock formation that transports you to celestial places. Afterward, return to your accommodations in La Paz for much-needed relaxation.
Day 9 – June 9 – Today holds the promise as you traverse through the urban streets and lively neighborhoods, noticeable from both street level and above. Elevate your experience with a cable car ride, ascending through the city to the Challauma neighborhood. Here, discover open-air street museums adorned with multicolored art. Conclude this remarkable journey through two countries with an unforgettable farewell dinner, solidifying the memories and friendships forged along the way.
Day 10 – June 10 – A private transfer will take you to La Paz International Airport-Manuel Márquez de León (LAP) for your connecting flight to the US.

- Traveler must make a NONREFUNDABLE deposit payment of $400 at time of registration to secure her spot.
- Monthly minimum payment of $400 is required on the first of every month until paid in full to keep your reservations current.
