Women Travel Abroad

February 6-12, 2023

Visiting the land of fire and ice in the winter allows you to witness Iceland’s stunning landscapes in a magical light. Phenomena such as ice caves, frozen waterfalls, and the Northern Lights are only accessible during this remarkable season!

Join WTA as we start our Icelandic adventures in Reykjavík – a colorful metropolis known for its lively culture. After a visit to Sky Lagoon and a tour around the capital, our group will experience a week full of winter wonderland adventures along the South Coast with one of Iceland’s premier guides. This once-in-a-lifetime tour is one that you are not going to want to miss!

Note: Iceland is not for the faint of heart. While all activities are optional, participation requires hiking in challenging winter terrain (snow + ice), and regular exposure to the winter elements. Proper attire and preparation is required.

We recommend leaving the US on February 5 so that your flight arrives the morning of February 6 – early enough to join your group for the Welcome Dinner on Day 1. Should you wish to arrive on February 5 instead, pre-trip hotel charges will be added to your final bill.

  • Activity Level

Day 1 – February 6  Welcome to Iceland! Arrive at Keflavik International Airport (KEF), and private transportation will take you to your hotel in Reykjavik. After settling into our accommodations, the group will depart for an afternoon of relaxation at a nearby oceanside geothermal lagoon. Once feeling refreshed, join your new travel companions for a welcome dinner and drinks at a local restaurant.

Note: We recommend your flight from the US arrives before 11am on February 6 to allow adequate time to join the day’s activities.

Day 2 – February 7  Today, we will discover the Iceland’s capital and largest city – Reykjavik. Our local guide will escort us through this city of bold contrast  as we learn about the historical and geographical significance of the region. Spend your afternoon perusing Reykjavik’s quaint shops as you search for the perfect souvenir.

Day 3 – February 8  Bundle up and prepare for epic adventure as we make way for the South Coast. Iceland’s Ring Road along the South Coast showcases many natural wonders, including countless waterfalls, basalt columns, and black sand beaches. Your mission today? Take it all in!

Day 4 – February 9  The adventure continues as we follow the Route 1 towards the fishing town of Höfn. Along our journey, we’ll experience more waterfalls, an expansive canyon, and a breathtaking lagoon dotted with icebergs from a nearby glacier.

Day 5 – February 10  A winter ice cave excursion is planned for our group, highlighting the majestic blue color seemingly found only in these caves. You will not want to forget your camera today – these views are incredible!

Note: Prepare for this excursion to take 5-6 hours.

Day 6 – February 11  TRANSFER DAY. Today, we say goodbye to Höfn as we drive along the South Coast back to Keflavik, making a few stops along the way. This evening, we toast to an adventurous week in Iceland with new friends and countless memories!

Day 7 – February 12  A private transfer will bring you to Keflavik International Airport (KEF) for your connecting flight to the US.
