Your journey commences in Lisbon, where the capital’s beauty beckons. Stroll along its shores and ascend to its lofty hills, where panoramic vistas unfold. Explore the 10th and 11th-century cathedrals, including Sé de Lisboa and Castelo de São Jorge. As you inhale the sea breeze and take in the iconic red-tiled roofs, you’ll be transported to bygone times.
Yet your adventure extends beyond Lisbon’s borders. Journey north to Porto, a medieval city renowned for its luscious Port wine and the renowned six bridges that span across the River Douro. While Porto boasts a wealth of must-see attractions, the pinnacle of your experience awaits in the Douro Wine Valley. Here, amidst tastings and tours, you’ll be whisked away on a scenic train ride through this captivating wine region.

ITINERARY
Day 1 – August 15 – Upon your arrival at Humberto Delgado Airport Lisbon (LIS), you’ll be greeted with warm hospitality and transferred to your central Lisbon accommodation. Settle in and unwind before joining your fellow travelers for a delightful welcome dinner, marking the beginning of your exciting journey ahead.
Note: We recommend your flight from the US arrives before 2pm on August 15 to allow for adequate time to join the day’s activities. Should you wish to arrive on August 14 instead, pre-trip hotel charges will be added to your final bill.
Day 2 – August 16 – Today you will explore Lisbon through a private walking tour of the historic district, come explore the colonialist history and ornate architecture. Absorb the city’s beauty in its entirety like the iconic Lisbon trams, which offer a comprehensive view of all that the city has to offer. After an incredible afternoon, join your fellow travelers for dinner as you enjoy the flavors of Portuguese cuisine.
Day 3 – August 17 – FREE DAY in Lisbon. This day the option is yours, wander the streets via tram and immerse yourself in local markets, parks, or Lisbon’s vibrant museum scene. Discover everything from the Banksy Museum to historical landmarks and street art. Alternatively, opt for a leisurely day by visiting Praça do Comércio, a stunning waterside plaza. Here, you can relish a meal while inhaling the sea breeze and observing the lively scene of people passing by. Today, the possibilities are limitless in Lisbon.
Day 4 – August 18 – Embark on an exploration of the Portuguese countryside as you make your way north to your next destination. The voyage to Porto unveils an astonishingly scenic route, providing glimpses of Portugal’s diverse and stunning terrain. As you reach Porto, you will transition into your new accommodations, preparing to immerse yourself in the city’s charm. Your introduction to this incredible destination begins as you join your fellow travelers for a dinner that encapsulates the essence of Porto.
Day 5 – August 19 – Anticipate a day filled with promise, from the iconic six bridges to an authentic port wine tasting. Immerse yourself in the historical treasures of Porto during a private walking tour, unveiling the medieval city’s captivating sights. After your tour, savor the pleasure of a local port wine tasting, before meandering once more through the charming streets of Porto’s heart.
Day 6 – August 20 – FREE DAY in Porto – Today presents you with the freedom to discover the charm of this northern Portuguese city at your own pace. Embark on a delightful excursion with your hosts to one of the numerous beaches, where the majestic waves of the Northern Atlantic Ocean meet the sandy and rocky Porto shoreline. Revel in the experience, whether it’s indulging in delectable bites and drinks at beachside restaurants or finding reprieve under the comforting shade of an umbrella.
Day 7 – August 21 – The moment has arrived to venture into the enchanting Douro Wine Valley. Board a scenic train for a captivating 2-hour journey through this wine region’s picturesque landscapes. Amid the painted backdrop of the Douro Valley, delight in two wine tastings and a delightful lunch. Renowned as the “Enchanted Valley,” Douro is synonymous with exceptional wines and boasts awe-inspiring vistas and vineyards. Allow yourself to unwind and relish delectable wine and cuisine at the local “quintas,” creating memories before culminating your final evening in Porto with yet another remarkable dinner.
Day 8 – August 22 – A private transfer will take you to the train station for your journey back to Lisbon where you will arrive at Humberto Delgado Airport Lisbon (LIS) for your connecting flight to the US departing after 1pm. If you are joining WTA on the consecutive trip to Spain your airfare will be covered by WTA.

Traveler must make a NONREFUNDABLE deposit payment of $400 at time of registration to secure her spot.

Monthly minimum payment of $400 is required every month until paid in full to keep your reservations current.

Trip balance must be PAID IN FULL by May 15, 2024.

Penalty of $250 will be assessed on any balance due after the May 15, 2024 final payment deadline.
