Heading south, Iceland’s Golden Circle unveils breathtaking showcasing natural wonders from the thunderous cascades of Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss to the haunting black sand beaches of Reynisfjara. As night descends, the pièce de résistance emerges: the Northern Lights. With luck, witness the celestial dance adorning the Icelandic sky with vibrant hues. This expedition seamlessly blends urban charm with natural marvels, offering a tapestry of experiences that linger as indelible memories of Iceland’s captivating allure.
Welcome to Iceland! Arrive at Keflavik International Airport (KEF) where private transportation will take you to your hotel in Reykjavik. Hit the ground running with a delightful walking tour of this captivating town. After settling into your hotel, converge with your travel companions for welcome drinks and dinner.
Commence your day in the Icelandic capital, Keflavik, with a visit to the Sky Lagoon—an enticing local thermal bath where natural hot springs embrace the ocean in the picturesque Kársnes Harbor. After a rejuvenating dip, return to the hotel and gather for an Icelandic dinner, sharing stories and savoring the unique flavors of this enchanting destination.
Explore further into the Icelandic landscape, where captivating black sand beaches and inspiring waterfalls beckon. Today, you’ll immerse yourself in the true essence of the country’s natural wonders. En route to Skogafoss, marvel at the cascading beauty of numerous waterfalls, pausing for a delightful lunch at a charming bistro. Before continuing our journey along the south coast, pause at the local Reynisfjara beach, where black pebbles and basalt columns emerge from the sea. Continue your gaze towards even more incredible landscapes before concluding the day at your new accommodation in Vik.
Awaken in the quaint town of Vik, nestled on the remote seafront and overshadowed by the Katla Volcano but not before departing for the Dyrhólaey Peninsula where awe-inspiring views paint your surroundings. Back on the road, venture towards Hveragerði, a small town surrounded by geothermal scenery, where you will settle into your boutique accommodation where you will stay for two nights.
Just an hour north of your accommodation lies Thingvellier National Park. A stunning natural wonder where geology and ecosystems intertwine. Find yourself in awe from the sights of the park, sound of the crashing Gullfoss waterfall, and the feeling of warmth from the local geysers. Stop for lunch at a quaint cafe before returning to your accommodation for your farewell dinner in Iceland.
Farewell Iceland. With cherished memories of a journey through the land of fire and ice in hand, you will return home. Depart your accommodation for a return drive back to Keflavik International Airport (KEF) for your return flight back to the US. Your departure flight should leave after 12PM
