Celebrate Diwali in India during the most magical time of year. From the Taj Mahal at sunrise to tiger safaris in Ranthambore, experience authentic India through cooking classes, temple visits, and intimate family celebrations. Discover Delhi’s spice markets, Jaipur’s Pink City, and Mumbai’s colonial grandeur during this unforgettable cultural journey.

 Itinerary Snapshot

Day 1 – October 31: Arrive Delhi
You’ll land at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) and feel Delhi’s energy right away. After settling into your boutique hotel, meet your fellow travelers and guide this evening. Your welcome dinner features traditional Indian dishes and gives you a first taste of the amazing food ahead.

Day 2 – November 1: Old Delhi Discovery
This morning, walk through Old Delhi’s narrow streets where history comes alive. Visit an 18th-century Sikh temple and help serve meals to thousands of people in their community kitchen. Next, taste crispy samosas and spiced chai at famous street stalls. Then explore Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest spice market, filled with colorful spices and amazing smells. Tonight, join a local family at their home to learn cooking secrets and share stories over dinner.

Day 3 – November 2: Journey to Agra
Take an early morning train to Agra and explore the red walls of Agra Fort, a UNESCO site with stunning Mughal buildings. This afternoon, visit Sheroes Hangout Café, run by brave acid attack survivors who inspire visitors daily. As evening comes, head to Mehtab Bagh gardens for sunset views of the Taj Mahal across the river, building excitement for tomorrow’s sunrise visit.

Day 4 – November 3: Taj Mahal & Ranthambore
Before sunrise, experience the Taj Mahal’s magic while wearing a traditional saree for unforgettable photos. The white marble glows golden in the morning light. After breakfast, drive south through changing landscapes to Ranthambore National Park. Settle into your forest lodge this afternoon, where jungle sounds replace city noise and tiger adventures await.

Day 5 – November 4: Tiger Safari Part 1
Early morning brings your first private jeep safari when tigers are most active and the light is perfect for photos. Enjoy the safari lodge’s incredible pool, hidden gardens, or luxurious spa in your free time this afternoon. Then, as the sunsets, take a second game drive through different areas where ancient ruins create dramatic backdrops. The park holds Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, and over 300 bird species. Every turn might bring an amazing wildlife encounter.

Day 6 – November 5: Safari Adventure Part 2
Another dawn safari gives you fresh chances to spot the park’s famous tigers. Expert trackers read paw prints and animal calls to guide your search. After lunch and rest, your final afternoon drive shows why Ranthambore captures hearts. This place mixes royal history with wild nature, making every sighting feel special.

Day 7 – November 6: Artisan Visit & Pink City
This morning, visit Dhonk, where local artisans create beautiful crafts and your visit supports wildlife conservation. After lunch, drive toward Jaipur as the landscape changes from forest to desert. Evening brings your first look at the “Pink City’s” rose-colored buildings glowing in sunset light. Enjoy dinner on a rooftop overlooking the lit-up city below.

Day 8 – November 7: Jaipur Exploration
Start your morning at Govind Dev Ji Temple to see daily religious ceremonies. Then explore Amer Fort with its famous mirror palace that once amazed emperors. After lunch, local women artists can paint beautiful henna designs while sharing stories about their craft. This evening, take a rickshaw tour through Diwali-decorated markets with a women-led company, stopping for chai and feeling the festival excitement building.

Day 9 – November 8: Diwali Celebration
This morning, visit the famous Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and explore City Palace with its royal treasures and beautiful courtyards. The afternoon gives you time to rest before tonight’s special celebration. Join a local family for real Diwali traditions – create colorful rangoli patterns, light clay oil lamps, and participate in prayers for good fortune. Experience India’s most loved festival with people who truly understand its meaning.

Day 10 – November 9: Mumbai Arrival
Fly from desert to coast as you arrive in Mumbai, India’s business capital and Bollywood’s home. Check into your hotel and get familiar with this busy city. This afternoon’s highlight is high tea at the legendary Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Enjoy elegant treats in beautiful surroundings where presidents and movie stars have stayed throughout history.

Day 11 – November 10: Mumbai Discoveries
This morning, see Mumbai’s real character at Dhobi Ghat, the world’s largest outdoor laundry where thousands of workers create fascinating activity. Visit the beautiful Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus with its Victorian architecture that earned UNESCO recognition. Explore busy Crawford Market where vendors sell everything from food to construction supplies. Tour the Prince of Wales Museum with over 50,000 amazing artifacts. Tonight’s farewell dinner celebrates new friendships and incredible memories from your Indian adventure.

Day 12 – November 11: Departure
Your final morning allows time for last shopping and thinking about your amazing journey. You’ve traveled from spice markets to royal palaces, from tiger territory to festival celebrations. Transfer to Mumbai’s main airport – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Mumbai (BOM) – this afternoon, taking home photos, souvenirs, and a deeper understanding of India’s incredible variety and the warmth of Diwali celebrations.

Note: This tour starts in Delhi (DEL) and ends in Mumbai (BOM). The arrival and departure airports are different, and you’ll be responsible for booking airfare arriving to DEL and leaving from BOM.

Our trips are open to all adult women. Our average traveler age is 55, but we’ve welcomed travelers as young as 20 and as old as 81. Age shouldn’t be a limiting factor to you exploring the world!

Traveler must make a NONREFUNDABLE deposit payment of $400 at time of registration to secure her spot.

Monthly minimum payment of $400 is required on the first of every month until paid in full to keep your reservations current.

Final payment must be made 90 days before the trip date.

A 50% refund can be requested prior to 6 months before the trip start date found in your invoice.

No refunds for cancellations within 6 months of the trip date found in your invoice.

A $250 penalty will be charged for any outstanding balance after the final payment date found in your invoice.
