You arrive at Muscat International Airport (MCT), where private transportation whisks you to your boutique hotel in Muscat. This afternoon, settle in and enjoy some free time to rest or explore your surroundings. This evening, gather for a welcome dinner where you’ll meet your fellow travelers and receive an introduction to Oman’s rich culture and history, setting the tone for the days ahead.

Day 2 – Dec 2
This morning, depart for your desert adventure to Wahiba Sands. Along the scenic route, you’ll visit natural wonders including the turquoise waters of Wadi Bani Khalid and the remarkable Bimah Sinkhole. Stop for lunch en route before arriving at your luxury desert camp in the afternoon. After settling in, experience an optional camel ride across golden dunes as the sun paints the sky orange and pink. This evening, enjoy dinner under the stars at your camp, where the Milky Way spreads across the sky above you.

Day 3 – Dec 3
Wake early for an optional sunrise over the dunes, or sleep in and watch the desert come alive with morning light. After breakfast, depart Wahiba Sands for Nizwa, one of Oman’s oldest cities, stopping to visit the spectacular Nizwa Fort with its impressive architecture and panoramic views. Explore Nizwa Souq, where you’ll meet local vendors selling traditional crafts, ornate silver jewelry, and fragrant spices. Enjoy lunch in Nizwa before continuing to Jebel Akhdar, the “Green Mountain.” Arrive at your mountain lodge nestled among terraced gardens, where you can unwind and watch the sunset paint the rocky peaks.

Day 4 – Dec 4
Spend this day exploring the serene beauty of Jebel Akhdar’s mountain villages. This morning, embark on a guided hike through terraced rose gardens and pomegranate orchards, visiting traditional cliffside villages where residents still farm using centuries-old methods. Connect with local artisans who craft fragrant rose water and other handmade products. Enjoy tea with a local family and learn about their lives in the mountains. This afternoon, choose to visit the spa for a rejuvenating treatment or simply relax surrounded by panoramic mountain views. Return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 5 – Dec 5
This morning, drive back to Muscat from the mountains, arriving by early afternoon. This is your free day to explore at your own pace. Visit the impressive National Museum of Oman to dive into the country’s fascinating history, browse the vibrant Mutrah Souq for souvenirs, or explore the majestic Al Alam Palace. If you prefer a more relaxed day, unwind at your hotel spa or by the pool. This evening, enjoy dinner on your own or rejoin the group for a meal at a local restaurant.

Day 6 – Dec 6
Embark on an unforgettable snorkeling adventure to the Daymaniyat Islands, a protected marine reserve just a short boat ride from Muscat. Explore pristine coral reefs teeming with colorful fish, sea turtles, and vibrant underwater gardens. Between snorkeling sessions, relax on white sandy beaches and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by untouched natural beauty. This afternoon, return to Muscat with time to rest before this evening’s farewell dinner, where you’ll celebrate new friendships and incredible memories made throughout your journey.

Day 7 – Dec 7
This morning, explore Muscat’s cultural heart with a guided city tour. Visit the stunning Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the Royal Opera House, where architecture reflects Oman’s blend of tradition and modernity. Wander through the bustling Mutrah Souq, where the scents of frankincense and exotic spices fill the air, and you’ll find intricate silver jewelry and colorful textiles. Enjoy lunch in the Mutrah neighborhood before continuing to explore the National Museum or simply browse for souvenirs. This evening, a private transfer takes you back to your hotel.

Day 8 – Dec 8
Your last full day in Oman is entirely your own. Revisit a favorite spot, do some final souvenir shopping at the Muttrah souq, or simply relax by the hotel pool. This evening, we gather one last time for a farewell dinner to celebrate the memories and friendships made throughout our Omani journey.

Day 9 – Dec 9: Departure
Enjoy a final Omani breakfast at the hotel. A private transfer will take you to Muscat International Airport (MCT) for your departure flight.
If you’re continuing on to the Dubai Extension, then you’ll fly with your trip host from Muscat to Dubai.
Dubai Extension | Dec 10 – 13, 2027
Day 1 – Dec 10
This morning, fly from Muscat to Dubai (1-hour flight). Upon arrival, private transportation takes you to your luxury hotel. This afternoon, settle in and enjoy time to refresh at your hotel or explore the nearby Marina area. This evening, enjoy a guided tour of Dubai’s highlights. Visit the iconic Burj Khalifa area and explore the historic Al Fahidi neighborhood, where you’ll see traditional architecture and learn about Dubai’s fascinating past. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and browse the traditional Gold and Spice Souks. This evening, experience a magical dhow cruise along Dubai Creek, enjoying dinner while watching the illuminated city skyline reflect on the water.

Day 2 – Dec 11
Today is your free day to explore Dubai at your own pace. Shop at world-class malls, relax by the beach, visit museums, or simply enjoy the hotel amenities. This afternoon and evening are yours to discover what calls to you. Perhaps visit the Palm Jumeirah, explore the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, or indulge in spa treatments. Dinner is on your own, giving you the flexibility to dine wherever you’d like.

Day 3 – Dec 12
Embark on a full-day excursion to Abu Dhabi, about 90 minutes from Dubai. Visit the breathtaking Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, an architectural masterpiece with its stunning white marble and intricate Islamic design. Explore the Emirates Palace, one of the world’s most luxurious hotels, and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the Louvre Abu Dhabi, which showcases art from around the world, or browse the Emirates Heritage Village. Return to Dubai in the late afternoon with time to rest before your final evening together. Join the group for a farewell dinner, celebrating the memories and friendships from your complete Arabian journey.

This morning, enjoy breakfast at your hotel. A private transfer takes you to Dubai International Airport (DXB) for your return flight to the US.

A former US Air Force Analyst turned consultant on all things process improvement, when Chieko isn’t working, you’ll find her traveling. She splits her time between Arizona and Colorado, but is on the road frequently for her job and personal travel. She is also a certified Yoga teacher since 2008. Her classes blend strength, balance, and flexibility work, leaving you feeling empowered! She loves meeting new people, discovering new culture, and helping people relax and restore through wellness practices.
