Daily Itinerary

Day 1: April 27 – Welcome to Scotland

Upon arrival at Edinburgh Airport (EDI) from the US, private transportation will be ready to whisk you away to your hotel. After settling into your room, join your group for a delightful evening of welcome drinks and dinner, toasting to the exciting adventures that lie ahead.

Note: We suggest that you depart the US on April 26 to arrive early enough for first day activities on April 27th. Should you wish to arrive a day early on April 26th, pre-night charges will be added to your bill.

Day 2: April 28 – Edinburgh Exploration

Today you will discover Edinburgh’s iconic landmarks on a guided tour that unveils the city’s rich heritage. Explore the magnificent Edinburgh Castle, stroll along the historic Royal Mile, and marvel at the regal beauty of the Palace of Holyroodhouse. You will immerse yourself with enthralling stories and architectural wonders, providing a memorable glimpse into the essence of this medieval city.

Day 3: April 29 – Free Day in Edinburgh

Indulge in a day of self-guided exploration in Edinburgh, to discover the wonders of the National Museum of Scotland, immerse yourself in the political landscape at the Scottish Parliament, or delve into the mind-bending illusions of the Camera Obscura & World of Illusions museum. The options are endless, allowing you to tailor your day to your own preferences and interests. Later, regroup with your fellow travelers and share your day’s excitement over a delectable local Scottish dinner.

Day 4: April 30 – Into the Wilds of Scotland

This morning, board a comfortable train for a spectacular journey through the Scottish countryside to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. After settling into your accommodation, join a local guide for an afternoon walking tour of this historic city, learning about its rich heritage and Celtic connections.

Day 5: May 1 – Free Day in Inverness

Today is yours to shape. Walk the Ness Islands footbridges along the river, browse the Victorian Market and the wonderfully chaotic shelves of Leakey’s Bookshop, or take a short trip out to Culloden Battlefield and the standing stones at Clava Cairns. Prefer a slower pace? Linger over a whisky flight or an afternoon in the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery. Reconvene in the evening to swap stories over dinner together.

Day 6: May 2 – Loch Ness & Glenfinnan Viaduct

Today you’ll embark on a scenic drive along the famous Loch Ness. Stop to visit the fascinating visitor center, stand on the banks to try and spot Nessie, and see the historic Urquhart Castle. By midday, we’ll have lunch in the quaint coastal town of Mallaig. Then the journey continues to see the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by Harry Potter. Finally, end the day in Fort William, a charming highland town nestled beneath Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Enjoy dinner at a traditional Scottish pub.

DAY 7: May 3 – Western Highlands Train & Glasgow

After breakfast, embark on one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys along the legendary West Highland Line to Glasgow. Watch as the train winds through dramatic mountain passes, alongside sparkling lochs, and across remote moorlands where no cars or roads exist. By afternoon, arrive in Glasgow where a guided walking tour introduces you to this vibrant city’s Victorian architecture and bustling merchant district. Enjoy some free time before celebrating your Scottish adventure with a farewell dinner featuring local delicacies and perhaps a final dram of whisky.

Day 8: May 4 – Farewell & Departure

Bid farewell to your new friends and the charming wilds of Scotland as you depart Edinburgh this morning. Private transportation will deliver you to Edinburgh Airport (EDI) for your flight back to the US.

Our trips are open to all adult women. Our average traveler age is 55, but we’ve welcomed travelers as young as 20 and as old as 81. Age shouldn’t be a limiting factor to you exploring the world!

Additional Information

Traveler must make a NONREFUNDABLE deposit payment of $400 at time of registration to secure her spot.

Monthly minimum payment of $400 is required on the first of every month until paid in full to keep your reservations current.

Final payment must be made 90 days before the trip date.

A 50% refund can be requested prior to 6 months before the trip start date found in your invoice.

No refunds for cancellations within 6 months of the trip date found in your invoice.

A $250 penalty will be charged for any outstanding balance after the final payment date found in your invoice.
